The taper mouth shovel is preferred by some users as an alternative to the square mouth shovel. It`s tapered blade makes it ideal for shovelling out, backfilling trenches, concrete mixing and manouvering ballast.

The taper mouth shovel is available with either a wooden T handle, a metal YD handle or plastic YD handle depending on which handle you prefer.

The blade size on all of our taper mouth shovels are 12½" tall and the width of the blade tapers from 10" at the top down to 8½" at the bottom.

All the blades on our taper mouth shovels are forged from a high quality, tough carbon steel.

Our taper mouth shovels are available with either a wooden shaft, an all steel shaft, a polyfibre shaft or a fully insulated shaft. Each shaft is 28" in length. The shafts differ depending on the type of work you mabe doing, a standard wooden handle for general shovelling to the fully insulated that gives you protection is you hit a cable, ideal if you are carrying out utility work.
